Introduction: Electronics & Communication Engineering covers a wide range of applications which make our life easier and enjoyable such as Television, Radio, computers, telecommunication etc. They help us to see, hear and communicate over vast distances and do things faster. It is one of the largest and fastest growing field of engineering. Electronics has a major role in improving productivity in industries like oil, energy, agriculture and several other important sectors of economy. In steel, petroleum and chemical industries, the electronic devices direct, control and test production processes. Health care industry depends on electronic instruments to perform chemical tests and to check body functions. The safety in transportation, factories mines, homes etc. rely heavily on electronics. It is a constantly changing and widening branch of engineering profession.

Message from HOD:
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at SGI, Palwal has a distinction of having faculty members with an expertise in their respective areas of specialization providing this department a cutting-edge. They have to their credit more than 40 research papers in various National and International Journals and Conferences. We firmly believe in continuous empowerment of our students with practical knowledge which has opened door for our students as well as faculty to keep on learning and implementing the technical concepts through minor as well as major projects which can be beneficial for our society as well. We encourage our faculty to interact with industry/allied professional bodies and take part in conferences, seminars, workshops etc. Our faculty members regularly visit the industry and participate in guiding our students along with their company counterparts in executing various live projects. Visits to industries and technical exhibitions are organized frequently.
The laboratories are well-equipped and fitted with latest kits featuring Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, Antenna and Microwave Training Systems, Optic Kits etc. so as to give our students practical hands on experience. This enables the department to disseminate desired knowledge to the aspirants in a broader perspective. We lay a great emphasis on R & D activities due to which a large number of students have initiated relevant industry R & D projects. Our vision is to promote an environment where faculty members and students can conduct result-oriented research and meet societal needs.
